Module 6 · Run · Lesson 1 of 4
Track a week of your own tasks, tag them by time and frequency, and pick the three worth handing to automation.
Deliverable: Complete a Time Audit of one full week of tasks, then sort every task into an Automate, Delegate-to-AI, or Delete list.
Part of the Make First Path
Pass this stage's gate ($10,000 cumulative gross profit, running in under 10 hours a week) and you earn your First $10K.

The first 30 minutes explain what automation actually is and walk you through building your first workflow trigger-to-action.
Right now, some of the work in your business repeats. You answer the same question twice. You copy the same numbers into the same sheet. You send the same kind of message to a new customer. None of that repeat work makes your product better. It just takes time you don’t have.
You are in school. You have homework, practice, family dinner, and sleep you probably don’t get enough of. If your business needs 20 hours a week to survive, it will lose to school, and it should. The whole point of the Run stage is that a business you built has to fit around your life, not replace it. Under 10 hours a week is not a nice-to-have. It is the actual finish line.
Before you can hand work to AI, you have to see the work clearly. That is what this lesson is: a week of honest tracking, then three simple buckets. Automate it. Let AI handle it with you checking the output. Or just stop doing it. Most people skip the tracking and jump straight to tools. Don’t. A tool pointed at the wrong task just makes the wrong task happen faster.
This is the least glamorous lesson in the whole Path. It is also the one that decides whether the Run stage actually works for you.
Before you touch an automation tool, use this conversation to get honest about where your time actually goes. Paste this into Claude and answer its questions one at a time. Don’t skip ahead to solutions.
I'm building a business as a teenager and I need to figure out which of my repeat tasks to automate. Do not suggest specific tools or automations yet. Instead, interview me about my week: ask me to list every task I do more than once, how long each one takes, and how often it repeats. Ask follow-up questions until you understand the real pattern. Once we have the list, help me sort it into three buckets - Automate, Delegate to AI (with me checking the output), and Delete - but make me decide each one myself. Push back if I'm about to automate something that only takes me two minutes.
Some automation tools have a free tier that covers one or two simple workflows, but a heavier flow may need a paid plan. If your student wants to upgrade, that’s a purchase decision for a parent, not something to put on a card without you knowing. Ask what workflow it’s for before you approve it.
Make
Complete a Time Audit of one full week of tasks, then sort every task into an Automate, Delegate-to-AI, or Delete list.
Checkpoint
You have chosen 3 tasks to automate, each with an estimate of the hours it will save you per week.
